Late Bro. Rafael Donato's 'Golfing for Education' advocacy keeps on burning as it reaped P1M for the benefit of FSLE scholars during the 8th BRAFE Golf Tournament at Mt. Malarayat Golf and Country Club, October 7.

On BRAFE's 8th year of golfing, professional and amateur golfers around the Philippines convened in the green field for a golden mission on education. This annual event raised funds for providing free Lasallian college education for financially-challenged but academically qualified students in De La Salle Lipa.

As of this year, FSLE has 31 scholars coming from engineering, business management, accountancy, arts and sciences programs. These scholars are enjoying 100% free tuition and miscellaneous fees as managed and supervised by the Lasallian Assistance Management Program (LAMP).

Scholars were present during the awarding ceremony of the said tournament where they proudly introduced themselves to the crowd of golfers. FSLE alumni Benny Mart Hiwatig and Kate Laya, who were both beneficiaries of BRAFE 1 and 4 respectively, were also present and introduced their current career status.

Moreover, the FSLE scholars under the supervision of Mr. Henson Ola, LAMP Manager, Jhing Minas and Ena Castillo, LAMP Staff extended their deepest gratitude to the BRAFE core group for their unending support to the foundation. The core group composed of Albert Garcia, Bong Africa, Edmund Datuin, Albert Virata de los Santos, Gene Garcia, Ben Jacinto and Ting Yupangco.

A check amounting to P 1,000,000.00 was formally endorsed to the FSLE group headed by Ms. Caress Banson, President of FSLE and accompanied by Br. Joaquin Martinez FSC, D. Min. President and Chancellor of De La Salle Lipa.

After the day of the tournament, Gil Noriel Ceniza, fourth year BS Accountancy and one of the BRAFE 5 beneficiaries uttered his realizations, "FSLE and BRAFE have given me the opportunity to pursue the career of my own choice. Through their compassion and generosity, I have been granted the chance of studying in an institution which not only provides quality education, but enhances student's personality as well. With all these privileges given to me, I have learned to treasure each and every opportunity coming my way. I have learned to value my education more, which intensifies my utmost desire to attain all my goals in life. That, I believe, is the greatest impact FSLE and BRAFE has brought into my life and into pursuing my dreams."
